 Lift Truck Chain Hamilton - Hamilton, Ohio is located in Butler County in the southwestern portion of Ohio State. Hamilton boasts a population of over 62,000 inhabitants and is considered part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The Hamilton City School District is believed to be the best urban school district within the state. The district superintendent, Janet Baker, has been named the year's superintendent of the state.
The city was initially an industrial town and now has numerous high-tech manufacturing facilities. Hamilton has recently been revitalized through the support from the arts. It has been declared the 'City of Sculpture,' because of the various sculptures in Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and within the downtown region.
In 1794, the region presently referred to as Hamilton was known as Fairfield. Fort Hamilton, an army post, was built there. The settlement was incorporated as Hamilton during the year 1810, but lost its status five years later since it failed to hold elections. During the year 1827 the community was reincorporated and in 1857 it became a city. Immigrants from Germany were attracted to the city and influenced its culture, especially its architecture and food. Paper production and iron works were two key industries that boomed within the city of Hamilton from the early to mid-20th century.
In 1913, much of Hamilton was destroyed during the Great Dayton Flood. The township later was called "Little Chicago" because numerous Chicago gangsters purchased houses in Hamilton. During the second World War, Hamilton factories made supplies for the war. However, military personnel were forbidden to enter Hamilton on account of the numerous prostitution and gambling establishments that had taken root there.
Nowadays Hamilton visitors and residents benefit from the city's numerous parks. Outdoor activities take place within Miami Woods, Joyce Park, Sanders Park, Milkin Woods and Crawford Woods. Individuals can usually be seen strolling and bicycling on the scenic paved paths along the Great Miami River banks. There are a lot of quality golf courses within the area. The local ice rink is busy during winter months with skating and hockey.
Residents normally go to nearby Cincinnati for cultural activities and professional sports events. Also accessible for Hamilton families is the Beach Waterpark and the Kings Island amusement and recreational center. What's more, there is a forest park situated in Campbell Gard on the Great Miami River.
