Lift Truck Chain Grand Junction - Within the western portion of Colorado, the biggest city is the city of Grand Junction. It is located 247 miles or 398km west-southwest of the Colorado State Capitol in Denver. According to the census of the year 2010, the city's population was around 58,566, making it the most heavily populated city on the Colorado Western Slope and the 15th most heavily populated city within the state of Colorado.

Grand Junction serves as the county seat for Mesa County and has a council-manager government. Grand Junction serves as a vital transportation and commercial hub in the large area between the Continental Divide and the Green River. Based on the Census of the year 2010, the Grand Junction Metropolitan Statistical Area had a population of around 146,723.

Situated along the Colorado River, the city of Grand Junction also meets the Gunnison River. The name "Grand" was instituted in 1921, and refers to the historical upper Colorado River. The word "Junction" comes from the joining of the Gunnison and Colorado rivers. The nickname "River City," has been given to Grand Junction for obvious reasons.

The city of Grand Junction is located near the Grand Valley, that is a main fruit growing region within the area. Grand Junction lies close to this mid-point of Grand Valley that is a 30 miles or 48 km arching valley that was initially home to the Ute people. In the 1880s, the region was inhabited by white farmers. Over recent decades, many wineries have become established in the region as well.

There are various mesas and canyons that overlook Grand Junction on the west, along with the Colorado National Monument, and much of the region is surrounded by public lands that are managed by the Bureau of Land Management. A prominent series of cliffs which define the Grand Valley's northern part are called the Book Cliffs.

Situated next to Grand Junction is the Country Jam Ranch, which is just north at the Mack exit on I-70. This is a permanent festival site constructed for music festivals, including Country Jam, an event that has been held since 1992 and one which attracts thousands of country music buffs to the region.

The region near the city of Grand Junction is a well-known mountain biking destination, with many bikers coming from the Salt Lake City region and the Front Range of Colorado. Some travel from as far away as the state of California to enjoy the area's abundant single-track trails. There are 2 main trails among others that are the Kokopelli and Tabegauche trails. They run all the way to Moab, Utah from near Loma.

During the economic meltdown referred to as "Black Sunday," which took place on the 2nd of May, the year 1982; started by Richard Douglas Lamm, the Colorado governor then; when he called the President of Exxon. He stated that the Exxon Company would cut its losses while retaining mining rights to the uneconomic oil. This bust was felt statewide as Exxon company had invested over 5 billion USD into the State of Colorado.
