There are more located in the suburbs, for instance, King of Prussia; it is a leader within the financial and insurance trade.
Within Pittsburgh, there are 8 Fortune 500 companies consisting of: U.S. Steel. PPG Industries and H.J. Heinz. GE Transportation Systems is also the biggest producer of train locomotives in the USA and they are found within Erie.
The biggest private company in the Commonwealth is Wal-Mart, like most of the states. The University of Pennsylvania takes 2nd place. Based on statistics from January the year 2010, Pennsylvania's unemployment rate is 8.8%.
