The city of Hollywood had a population of 140,768 based on the Census of the year 2010. The city of Hollywood was founded in 1925 and the region grew rapidly during the 1950s and during the 1960s. For the South Florida metropolitan area, Hollywood is a principal city and in the same 2010 census, there were roughly 5,564,699 individuals calling the area home.
In the beginning of the 1920s, a visionary planner by the name of Joseph Wesley Young, founded the community. The area certainly offers something for everyone and is a fantastic place to visit regardless what your age.
The two boardwalk parks attract a lot of kids and adults of various ages, that use the historic courts on Garfield Street for paddleball. Kids can cool off in a fun dolphin play fountain. Josh's Organic Market is a super famous location. The locals rave about it. They install shop at the boardwalk's south end each and every weekend. This outdoor market blends various delicious fresh drinks and tropical smoothies from their seaside stand.
The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is situated on the northern border of the city. This airport is considered to be one of the fastest growing airports in the USA. Within Hollywood City, Port Everglades is conveniently located. It is one of the strongest economic engines in South Florida as it generates over $10.6 billion in waterborne revenue on a yearly basis. The region has more than 15 linear miles of commercial corridors targeted for business opportunities, and redevelopment.
