Lift Truck Chain Mesquite - The city of Mesquite, Texas is located approximately 12 miles away from Dallas. Mesquite City is a mid-sized city in north central Texas. The city of Mesquite gets its name from the Mesquite Creek which flows through the city. It is located near the intersection of Interstate Highways I-635 and I-30 on U.S. Route 80. Balch Springs lies to the south and Garland City is situated towards the north. The city of Mesquite is known as the "Rodeo Capital of Texas" because it hosts the Mesquite Championship Rodeo yearly.

The Texas and Pacific Railway were built during the year 1873. In the year 1887, Mesquite City was incorporated and bit by bit started to expand with cotton being its main economic driver. Within a twenty year span, from the years 1950 to 1970, the population quickly increased from less than 20,000 people to 50,000 residents. The cities expansion was due mainly in part to the growth of the nearby city of Dallas. To be able to help preserve Mesquite's heritage and culture, Mesquite City established the Mesquite Historical Commission in the 1980's. The name has since been changed to the Historic Mesquite, Inc., and is presently working on numerous projects like for example a historical park.

On May 22, 1873, the town of Mesquite was established along the Texas & Pacific line outside of Dallas City. It was founded by an engineer of the Texas & Pacific Railway. The population of the city began to grow more rapidly after the train, which ran from Dallas to Shreveport, began to stop in the little town. On December 3, the year 1887, Mesquite City was officially incorporated.

The economy in Mesquite City mainly revolved around agriculture and farming, in particular growing cotton, hay, corn, and sugar. The railway was invaluable for transporting these raw goods. The economy of Mesquite City remained concentrated on agriculture until soon after the second World War. The city of Mesquite prospered, and its population increased from 1,696 during the year 1950 to roughly 55,131 in the year 1970.

There are numerous unique attractions located in the city of Mesquite. The most highly anticipated event of the year is the Mesquite Championship Rodeo, that has taken place annually ever since the year 1958 and is televised all around the country. One more of Mesquites premiere attractions is the Mesquite Arts Center which is home to over 16 arts groups like the Mesquite Symphony Orchestra, the Mesquite Community Theatre, the Mesquite Community Band, and a local art gallery. A family-friendly facility, the Rodeo City Music Hall, provides all sorts of entertainment intended for various ages. Between the months of March and November the Devil's Bowl Speedway hosts a variety of action-packed competitions which racing enthusiasts flock to go to. Amongst the historic places within Mesquite are the Florence Ranch Homestead, that dates back to the late 1800's, and the Texas Queen. The Texas Queen is actually a double deck paddle wheeler that serves as a popular place for special events.

Being close to Dallas and Fort Worth, Mesquite Citythe city of Mesquite is close to different popular attractions, like Fair Park, the Dallas Arboretum Botanical Garden, Dallas Zoo, Dallas Museum of Art, Forth Worth Stockyards National Historic Districts, Dallas World Aquarium and Rainforest, Six Flags Over Texas, The Sixth Floor Museum, and the West End Marketplace.

There are many nearby major sports teams, with the Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers playing their homegames within Arlington, whilst in Irving, the Dallas Stars, the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks make their home.
