Lift Truck Chain North Charleston - North Charleston (population around 97,400) is a city in South Carolina, United States. North Charleston was not incorporated as a city until 1972. At present it is the 3rd largest city within the state, and is considered a major retail and industrial center. The city of North Charleston incorporates parts of Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties. The total land area of the city is 198 km2.

The city of North Charleston features various museums, historical sites and other public attractions, including the American LaFrance Fire Museum & Educational Center. This particular museum features antique exhibits and one-of-a-kind fire equipment and vehicles that date back to the mid 18th century. The Museum is located between Tanger outlet mall and the North Charleston Coliseum.

The H.L. Hunley Museum exhibits a Civil War era submarine, known as the very first successful combat submarine in the world. Lifted from the ocean floor during 2000, the submarine is being restored along with numerous artifacts which were recovered at the site. The museum is located at the old Naval Base in North Charleston.

There are sculptures of various kinds of ships constructed and serviced at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. These sculpture exhibits are displayed at the Greater Charleston Naval Memorial. The Memorial is situated on the old Navy Yard at Riverfront Park.

The Charleston Area Convention Center has brought millions of visitors and guests to North Charleston ever since its establishment in 1999. The facility provides ballrooms, meeting rooms and exhibition halls. The Convention Center contributes a lot to the local and regional economy.

The 13,295-seat North Charleston Coliseum provides an excellent venue for special events, local graduations and concerts. It is among the largest places in South Carolina and home to the South Carolina Stingrays hockey team of the ECHL. The Coliseum is conveniently situated near the Charleston International Airport.

The North Charleston Performing Arts Center seats more than 2,000 and offers an exceptional venue for major Broadway shows, world-renowned theatrical and musical performances.

Together, the North Charleston Coliseum, the Performing Arts Center and the Charleston Area Convention Center form a cultural and entertainment complex that benefits the whole region. These facilities are owned by the city of North Charleston.
