Pallet Truck Chain

Pallet stackers are a type of pallet jack that might be employed to stack, transfer and haul merchandise placed on a pallet that are far too heavy for manual lifting. Generally these mechanisms are used to load and unload goods from trucks and to transport pallets from one site to another within a stockroom of storage space. Most pallet stackers are built of heavy duty materials to endure tremendous weights. Pallet stackers are sometimes identified as pallet jacks. They may be operated from a seated, upright or walk-behind position. Pallet jacks are separated into manual and powered styles.

Certain fundamental components comprise the pallet jack. There are forks which slide beneath a pallet, capable of transporting and raising it to a desired height. The engine section or casing houses the gas-run, electronic or hydraulic apparatus that powers the instrument.

Commonly, pallet stackers come in walk-behind versions that are hand-powered. This means that they are moved by pushing and pulling the stacker into its desired location, while raising the heavy pallets will be operated hydraulically making this chore a great deal easier. Utilizing a foot pedal or handle raises the stacker's forks. Squeezing a handle or trigger returns the forks to the ground. These designs of pallet jacks are perfect for lighter loads of up to approximately 1 ton or 907.18 kg.

Electric or gas driven pallet stackers can accommodate extreme lifting weights of up to 5 tons or 4535.92 kg. They are physically less demanding than the manual models due to the automatic power to raise and let down the stacker's forks. These models are steered by turning the handle in a specific direction. There is a button on the handle that operates to hoist and lower the forks. A throttle set up on the stacker's handle moves the machine forward and in reverse. This style of equipment is generally referred to as a lift truck and is used from a sit-down position.

Choosing the right model of pallet jack can be quite critical as versions will have varying lift capabilities, along with varying fork widths. Some designs of jacks might only permit two pallets to be loaded at one time, whilst other versions might be capable to stack multiple pallets. Certain types of these forklifts feature an adjustable fork so as to permit the jack to slide underneath pallets of different sizes and shapes. These designs are effective when a mixture of styles of pallets are common within a workspace.
