 Lift Truck Chain Stockton - The city of Stockton has a population of 280,000, making it the 13th largest city within the state of California. This culturally and ethnically diverse city continues to grow gradually. Sixty miles to the west is San Francisco Bay, and 83 miles west is San Francisco itself. The city is in a fairly middle location, with Sacramento situated just 45 miles to the south. The San Joaquin Delta waterway unites the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers to San Francisco Bay.
Recently, Stockton City has undergone a huge economic expansion with a special focus on revitalizing the downtown area. There are some projects either being built or currently planned, like for instance retail, apartments, housing, a baseball stadium, an indoor arena and a hotel. The arena would host four major sports teams: California Cougars Soccer, Stockton Ports Minor Baseball, Stockton Lightning Area2 Football and the Stockton Thunder Hockey. At the gateways of the city, Stockton is constructing several entertainment and retail centers. In the year 2003 the City Centre Cinemas, the sixteen screen movie theatre, was developed.
The financial system of Stockton was at first based almost exclusively on agriculture. Since that time, the city has greatly diversified, with telecommunication and manufacturing plants becoming more common. The strong ties with agriculture will gradually become more and more essential when the concentration on trying to find a renewable energy increases.
The land is rather cheap and the proximity of the transportations routes have enabled the companies of Pac-West Telecommunications, Golden State Lumber Company and Duraflame to build their regional operations in Stockton. The city is even ideal for those companies based on renewable energy; amongst the largest receivers of wind turbines is the Port of Stockton. There is an extremely efficient and reliable rail system in the city, which helps to make the distribution of products go efficiently. Even with the bio diesel and ethanol plants constructed near the Port, there is still more than two thousand acres of free space existing
Stockton is presently working on developing green sustainable resources. Secondary educational institutions and high schools are working together with the local government to be able to educate the residents about the renewable energy business with the hopes that a solution to the fast diminishing supply of oil can be found.
