Lift Truck Chain Garland - The city of Garland is a northeast suburb of Dallas and is a vital piece of the Forth Worth-Dallas Metroplex. Most of the city lies within Dallas County, even though small portions are situated within Collin County. It is the 12th most inhabited city within the state of Texas with a current population of around 227,000. There are two DART Light Rail Line transit stations situated within the city. One is at Forest Land and Jupiter Road whilst the other is situated within Historic Downtown Garland. The D/FW International Airport is located roughly thirty minutes away.

The area was first settled in the year 1850 with the community officially being launched during 1874. The settlement was named after the corn mill that was built by a man named Moles on the northwest bank of Duck Creek. Fortunately for the settlers, the black soil was perfect for growing cotton. Cotton quickly became their main agricultural product and, by the year 1867, two cotton gins had been built. A post office was finally established during the year 1878.

In recent years, Garland City has seen numerous notable developments; particularly within the northern sector of the city. During 2003 the city opened Hawaiian Falls Water Park, that was followed shortly by both the Firewheel Town Center and the School District's Special Events Centre during 2005. The Firewheel Town Center hosts over 100 businesses within an outdoor mall surroundings.

The city and the Trammell Crow Company completed a public/private transaction during the year 2009, to develop the parking lot and old courthouse situated between 5th Street, 6th Street, as well as the North Side of Austin Street into a development which is transit oriented known as 5th Street Crossing. This development contains over 189 residential apartment units together with 11,000 SF of flex retail. City Hall and the downtown DART Rail station are located cater-corner to 5th Street Crossing.
