 Lift Truck Chain Hamilton - Hamilton town was created by George Hamilton, George Hamilton's son, a Queenston entrepreneur and founder. George Hamilton bought farm holdings of James Durand, the local Member of the British Legislative Assembly after the War of 1812. Initially, the town was not Gore District's most influential centre, however as the city grew, increasingly more well-known buildings were made, especially during the 19th century. In the year 2001, the city was formed from the amalgamation of the Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth and its six municipalities: Hamilton, Ancaster, Flamborough, Dundas, Stoney Creek and Glanbrook.
The city of Hamilton loves sports. It is home to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum, and is also well-known for hosting the prestigious Canadian Open golf championships four times. The closest team for the locals is Ti-Cats, the Tiger-Cats Football Team of "Eat 'em raw" fame for over 135 years of games. For recreational activities, it's safe to say that Geography defines the city of Hamilton. One thing to watch out for is the Niagara Escarpment, a United Nations World Biosphere which cuts through the middle portion of the city of Hamilton. It is recognized for offering visitors and tourist's waterfalls, trails, and vistas. Lake Ontario and Hamilton Harbour provides recreational activities such as boating, parks and trails. Bird watchers could find the city a haven of wildlife and exotic birds, because Hamilton is one of the major places for bird migration. Additionally, the city of Hamilton has approximately sixty-five waterfalls, which makes it the "City of Waterfalls" within Canada. It is believed that Hamilton city has more waterfalls compared to whichever other city of similar size within the world.
There are numerous tourist attractions in the city. Some of them include: the African Lion Safari, which features over 1,000 exotic birds, Misumu Bay Play, live animal shows, and a lot more. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, which is home to more than forty aircrafts from World War II to military jets. Likewise existing within the Heritage Museum are vintage aircraft flying, displays, restaurants, guided tours, gift shops, and many more. The Cathedral of Christ the King is the mother Church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamilton. The church of the Anglican diocese of Niagara is Christs' Church Cathedral, that dates back from the year 1835. Confederation Park offers Lakeland Centre, Wild Waterworks, Lakeland Go-Karts, Hutch's Restaurant, Baranga's on the Beach, Adventure Village, and Hamilton Beach Trail.
Manufacturing is the most vital economic activity within Ontario, and the Toronto-Hamilton region is considered to be the most highly industrialized part of the country. 60 percent of Canada's steel are produced by Dofasco. Another major player in the scene is Stelco, and in the latter part, the United States Steel Corporation. This has made Hamilton City the "Steel Capital of Canada." In 2003, Hamilton City began making a 30-year growth management strategy which plans to erect a massive industrial park centered around Hamilton Airport. The proposal, which is known as the Airport Employment Growth District, is being primed to be the solution to the city's shortage of employment lands.
