Lift Truck Chain St. John's

Lift Truck Chain St. John's - The city of St. John's is the capital city of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. St. John's is located on the eastern coast on the island of Newfoundland, on the Avalon Peninsula. It is also considered the largest city within the Province and is the second biggest CMA within the Atlantic Provinces. The city of St. John's is the oldest English-founded settlement within North America, and tradition credits the explorer, John Cabot for the name of the city. John Cabot is the first European to sail into the harbor. During 1500, it was officially founded as a community by Sir Humphrey Gilbert, who declared it an English colony during the year 1583. The area has seen a lot of transformations, mostly during the 20th century, where service centres, modern export and oil fields strengthened St. John's economic output to a level which is much higher.

The city provides several attractions to tourists. Signal Hill has a panoramic view of the city, Atlantic Ocean and port, and is the site of many military endeavours over the centuries. In 1901, it was on the receiving end of the first transatlantic wireless signal by Marconi. Cape Spear National Historic Site is believed to be the most easterly point in North America. Well-known for its incredible coastal scenery, this major attraction is the oldest surviving lighthouse in Newfoundland which was completely restored to its original appearance.

There are several unique marine animals that make their home along the coastal waters of Newfoundland and Labrador, such as humpback, minke, sei, right, pothead, blue, see fin and sperm whales. A marine bird sanctuary sits outside the city limits, and showcases seabirds as well as various marine life during summertimes. Tourists to the region may be able to see the iceburg from certain vantage points in the city. The Fluvarium is where individuals can look at Brook and Brown Trout in their natural habitat. The Grand Concourse is amongst the main attractions within the city of St. John's. It is a series of fluvarium, urban walkways, connecting parks, historic places, Victorian architecture and picturesque ponds. Johnson GEO Centre has an exhibit area which geographically highlights natural rock walls that remain exposed in the exhibit areas. These rocks show the history of Newfoundland and Labrador that extends 3.7 billion years ago. The Room at Fort Townshend is a contemporary cultural centre which preserves and protects the cultural and historical heritage of the province. The Botanical Gardens of Memorial University covers around 45 hectares of land near the center of St. John's. It is unique as it not just offers a botanical garden, but it also provides a natural reserve of around 212 kinds of flowering plants and ferns, 20 kinds of birds, and 26 kinds of butterflies.

The gas and oil within the oceans around the city of St. John's have continued to drive the cities growth. The city of St. John's has been recognized as having the biggest proportion of engineers and scientists per capita of any North American city under one million residents. Economic forecasts predict that the city will continue to be strong in its economy in the future not just because of its natural resources, but also because of its new home construction and tourism.
